5- and 9-layer films oriented in the machine direction (MDO), intended for printing and lamination. Used in mono-material laminates as a replacement for PET/OPP/OPA.
We present our state-of-the-art multilayer monoaxially oriented films (MDO PE) for printing and lamination. Fully recyclable solutions replacing PET, OPP, and OPA in mono-material laminate structures. At Kraus Folie, full recyclability of the product is at the core of our mission, and our 5- and 9-layer films state a proof of our commitment to full product recyclability and environmental care. These innovative films play a key role in laminated structures, enabling the creation of PE/PE mono-material laminates.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the MDO process?
Mechanical Direction Orientation. This is a process of stretching and orienting the foil in one direction: machine direction. The orientation process involves heating the primary film and stretching it in the machine direction by a multiple ratio (e.g., 5x) and then cooling it. This changes the physical and mechanical properties of the film by aligning the molecular chains in one direction, which alters the film's rigidity, gloss, barrier properties, and mechanical properties.
-
What thicknesses of MDO PE film do we produce?
We produce thicknesses between 20µm and 35µm . It is also possible to produce a blocked version with a thickness of up to 80µm.
-
Is MDO PE film sealable?
We offer the oriented film Sustilen MDO PE LTS 100, which is sealable at a low seal initiation temperature.
